| Hannah Rebekah Herrold (HRH) was born at Rutland Manor on November 19th, 2001. During the next twelve weeks, excitement and chaos took over the Herrold household. Life was never to be the same!
For example, email was checked repeatedly while we hoped and prayed for pictures or news of our new puppy; the Labradoodle chat pages were scanned and read multiple times in attempts to keep connected and in the know; cyber friendships began to form with other Doodle owners all over the world and soon-to-be parents of Hannah's siblings; pet stores were visited weekly; "BARF" became a household word while trying to figure out what it was all about; Hannah pictures began to appear all over the house and office, while computer wallpaper turned into pictures of a cute little chocolate fur ball; and friends and colleagues began to appear "concerned" over our obsession with this Australian canine phenomenon - sometimes referred to as "that Poodle-Doodle".
Finally, the waiting game ended on February 5th, 2002 at 9 p.m. when her plane safely landed at Baltimore Washington International Airport. Sure enough, just as we had imagined for 12 weeks, this little, timid, beautiful chocolate curly girl dared to put just one paw, then two paws outside of her crate, only to be scooped up and hugged by her smiling family. We just COULD NOT believe she was finally with us! That day was undoubtedly one of the best days of our lives!
Since that very evening, Hannah has been a true joy for all of us (well, except for Lucy the cat). Her cute little antics keep us laughing, her morning kisses in bed always begin our days with a smile, and her unconditional love for her family shines through with a warm radiance that brightens each and every day. WE LOVE HER!
